Join Anna for this two-day workshop to make a square trug, ideal for flowers, veg, or paperwork! Suitable for intermediate/ advanced weavers.
Students will work on a square base using a traditional screw block to hold the base uprights in place, and randing to weave most of the base, finishing off with pairing. Corner posts are used to accentuate the corners and scalloming to attach the side stakes. A guide is used to create and maintain the square shape, pulling out on the corners all the time to ensure squareness of corners is achieved.
Double packing can be make to lift the sides quickly, or a rand all around to create a deeper basket. Then a wale and special sequences for running a rod border around a square corner will be covered.
Handle bow and handle wrapping or handle holes (on a deeper basket) optional.
