Volunteering

As a social enterprise, we're committed to creating opportunities to encourage as many people as we can to get out into the woods. We run regular volunteering days on our main site near the Lake of Menteith and on coppice sites across the Central Belt.

On site, volunteers help with general site maintenance and upkeep, prep for upcoming events and workshops, and process wood for charcoal. In the coppice, volunteers are involved in all aspects of coppicing, from cutting to processing and transporting. Our volunteers learn new skills, meet new people, chat around the campfire and benefit both physically and mentally from being outdoors in the woods. They also tell us that volunteering helps them engage directly with nature and gives them a sense of doing something positive for the environment.

As well as physical work, we’re also looking for volunteers to help us with other things, including representing Green Aspirations at events and helping with funding applications, marketing, photography, and more. If you’re interested, or know anyone who might be, send us an email today.

Follow us on Facebook to keep up to date with volunteering opportunities or get in touch to find out more.

All volunteering starts around 10am and lasts for as long as you want to stay (usually when it gets dark!). We provide tea, coffee and biscuits but please bring lunch and any other snacks you need. You can come along as individuals or in a group – please let us know in advance if you're planning on joining us.

Programme starts Thursday 5 March
