News from Green Aspirations
Welcome to the second edition of our newsletter. April has been full of Wee Skelfs, charcoal, and the beginning of our workshop season, not to mention volunteering, sticks, games, woodworking groups, and more. Here's a bit more about what's been going on, and some info about what's coming up next.

News from Wee Skelfs
Over 6 days this Easter holiday, we welcomed Wee Skelfs onto our site to experience our risky-play based club. Risky play is an approach that encourages kids to use their imaginations, assess risks, and solve problems, which helps in all areas of childhood development. Each day starts with a chat around the fire about our basic safety rules, followed by a boundary walk so the Skelfs know where they're allowed to play, and then the kids are set free! Some spend time in the Toy Shop, making things out of wood. Others prefer the craft tent, painting or making things with wool. Some like making dens in the woods, or just exploring the area. All enjoy the freedom to run around, eat their snacks whenever they like, and get hands-on with tools. And they all love the mudpit! This holiday, we saw a brand new addition to our hanging gallery, as well as paintings, and some very imaginative mega-weapons! We asked the kids what they most enjoyed about Skelfs - here's what they said!
