We are delighted to announce that we will be hosting a three-year apprenticeship under the BHMAT scheme. The apprenticeship provides a fantastic opportunity to learn about coppicing, woodland management, and woodland crafts, with a focus on developing the skills and expertise needed to start your own business.
To apply for the scheme, you must first attend the wonderful Woodland Pioneers course, hosted by the Bill Hogarth Memorial Apprentice Trust. The five-day course will enable you to get a feel for the kind of work involved in the apprenticeship, and for us to get to know the people who might apply for the scheme. We have places reserved on the course, so make sure to let them know when you book. More details here – http://www.coppiceapprentice.org.uk/pioneersbook.php – and in the video below.
The scheme is a three-year course, and successful apprentices will be awarded with the Bill Hogarth Coppice Diploma. The apprentice will be based with use here at Green Aspirations, learning about every aspect of our work. Each apprentice will receives a small bursary of £3000 per annum, and they can earn additional money through work placements. The scheme is focused on equipping apprenticeships to establish their own woodland business.
