youth and community
Our core purpose as a social enterprise is to provide different opportunities to get out into the woods. Our focus is to show young people - especially those who have struggled with traditional education - what the woodlands offer. We help young people gain confidence, practical know-how and traditional skills in wood-based crafts and woodlands management, in an effort to show that there are employment options available. We channel any surplus we make from our other activities into our projects, including donations, as well as seeking external grant funding wherever possible.
youth
We work with schools and school leavers to develop practical skills and knowledge, in woodland management, green woodworking and natural crafts. We encourage hands-on participation, and create a safe space for young kids, teenagers and young adults to try new things.
community
We work with community groups to understand the woodlands in their area, and how to make the most of them. We encourage all members of the community - young and old - to get outside more, hosting family-friendly events that range from spoon carving to bug hunting.
