Make your own Shavehorse

Once you have used one you need one! Join us for a weekend course to make your own steed. The course covers timber selection, tools required and techniques to make a swinging frame shave horse.

We will shape the base, make and fit legs, and select curved timber for the frame. We'll also use the pole lathe to turn the foot rest and top grip. At the end of the weekend, you will have your own shave horse to take away with you. Get ready to expand your woodworking horizons!

Workshop programme You'll arrive on site by 10am on each day, and be directed to our workshop. From there, one of our experienced trainers will lead you through the workshop. All wood and tools are provided. Each day finishes at 4pm. Camping is available.

Cancellation policy We do have to cancel events from time to time, usually for safety reasons in bad weather or when there is a weather warning. If we do have to cancel, we'll give as much notice as possible. We'll also refund the value of the booking, seek a suitable placement on a similar event or rearrange the date of the event. If you have to cancel, please tell us as far in advance as possible. If you let us know at least 7 days in advance, we'll refund your booking.
