About the Event
Kitchen crafts is our new set of workshops that focuses on making what you use in the kitchen both beautiful and useful, following the sloyd traditional. Participants in each workshop will make different sets of items that perform a different job in the kitchen. As you make each item, you’ll learn different ways to use an axe, knife, and other traditional tools, building your skills as well as your kitchen equipment!
Make a shrink pot and spatula:
This workshop will focus on making a shrink pot to use as a holder for your kitchen utensils. You’ll hollow out a log using a drill and hook knife, and then fit a dry board to make the bottom of the pot. Over a few days, the branch will dry and shrink around the bottom piece. We’ll also learn how to make a spatula to put into your new pot.
Each workshop is £75 per participant. Get 10% if you book more than one workshop - use code KitchenCrafts23 in your booking.
Workshop programme You'll arrive on site by 10am, and be directed to our workshop. From there, one of our experienced trainers will lead you through the workshop. All wood and tools are provided. The day finishes by 4pm. Please bring food and drink for the day with you.
