Kitchen Crafts: Make a coffee scoop and bag peg

Kitchen crafts is our new set of workshops that focuses on making what you use in the kitchen both beautiful and useful, following the sloyd traditional. Participants in each workshop will make different sets of items that perform a different job in the kitchen. As you make each item, you’ll learn different ways to use an axe, knife, and other traditional tools, building your skills as well as your kitchen equipment!

Make a coffee scoop and bag peg:

Our first kitchen craft workshop is designed to give you a spring in your step, focused on making the most of your morning coffee! We’ll start by making a coffee scoop, to measure out the coffee for your pot, using axe, knife and spoon knife. We’ll also make a peg to use on your bag of coffee. As with our other kitchen craft workshops, you can also explore different decorative techniques.

Workshop programme You'll arrive on site by 10am, and be directed to our workshop. From there, one of our experienced trainers will lead you through the workshop. All wood and tools are provided. The day finishes by 4pm.  Please bring food and drink for the day with you.

Cancellation policy We do have to cancel events from time to time, usually for safety reasons in bad weather or when there is a weather warning. If we do have to cancel, we'll give as much notice as possible. We'll also refund the value of the booking, seek a suitable placement on a similar event or rearrange the date of the event. If you have to cancel, please tell us as far in advance as possible. If you let us know at least 7 days in advance, we'll refund your booking.
