About the Event
Aimed at those with some previous experience of spoon carving, on this 2 day workshop we will explore creating spoons that not only function and feel beautiful, but also are a delight to the eyes. With the emphasis on creating beautiful shapes we will also look at decorative possibilities and finding sources of inspiration outside of the obvious to create something fresh and unique.
About Amy: I started spoon carving 10 years ago, enthralled by the possibility of starting with a very raw and readily available material and taking the creative process through to a functional finished item. Since then I’ve been completely absorbed by the beauty of wood and simple life enhancing folk crafts. I’ve been influenced by Swedish and Eastern European wood craft traditions as well as design inspiration from ceramics, textiles, and architecture.
The 2-day workshop run from 10am to 4pm on both course dates. Ticket price includes camping on site.
